The purpose of the Chromebook is to help students learn. Student use of the Chromebook for learning is the top priority of the Chromebook.

1. I understand that this Chromebook computer is intended for school-related use only. I further understand that the Lake Hamilton School District is not responsible for any personal programs or files that may be on this computer.

2. I agree to obey all school, federal, and state laws and regulations. I agree to abide by any Internet use rules instituted by Lake Hamilton School District whether those rules are written or oral.

3. I understand if I transfer to a new school district or leave the district for any reason, I must immediately contact my school administrator and arrange to return the Chromebook.

4. I understand I am fully responsible for replacing the Chromebook computer in the event of theft.

5. I understand I am responsible for the cost of repair for any damage done to the Chromebook. This may be up to and including the full replacement cost of the Chromebook.
a. The student/parents will return the Chromebook in good working order or pay the full $250.00 replacement cost of the Chromebook. In addition, the student must also return both the Chromebook and charger. Students may be charged for any piece that is not returned. ($25.00 for the Chromebook charger)

6. I understand I am responsible for any and all programs installed on the Chromebook while I have it at home.

7. I may also be responsible for the costs related to cleaning off any malicious programs that may be installed.

8. I understand Lake Hamilton School District administrative staff and faculty retain the right to collect and/or inspect Chromebooks at any time, including via electronic remote access and to alter, add or delete installed software or hardware.
a. I understand there will be consequences if there is an attempt to remove management ability.
b. Chromebooks will be monitored through Google management to ensure proper use.

9. I understand I am responsible for any and all files downloaded to the Chromebook while I have it at home.

10. Remember that while the school system will provide Internet content filtering, there is no substitute for parental supervision when using a computer.
